The original building was in a very poor state, not much more than a ruin. A drastic but attentive operation was needed for the renovation, a real “revolution”, hence the eatery’s name: “La Revolución”. The roof needed complete replacement, which allowed the architects to include a roof terrace.
On the ground floor, the designers opted for solutions that on the one hand underscore the materials of the original building by cleaning the old brickwork that contrasts with the reconstructed bare concrete walls and the dark wood of the counter and shelves showcasing odds and ends and books, just like a real, lived-in house.
